Property Portals - It is a matter of being in the right place at the right time to a degree and to ensure you spread your marketing dollar, pound or Euro...whatever - amongst the stronger of the names. Those looking generally will often start at a generic site looking for 'international property' or 'overseas property' - those looking for specifics will type in a specific. Look for portals that allow the insertion of title tags, descriptions and meta tags (although some question the use of these it is still relevant to a part. It also depends on where you are as a name like Primelocation or Viviun who are strong but have no relevance to people not in the UK or USA.

Agents who are seeking to build traffic should take a long term view - at least a year and build on the fact that listings get indexed over time.

International Property Directory has generated some 10,000 page views in less than a year for some agents but it can be hard to quantify a sale or a lead at times as users will see a property on one site - check it out on another or go and ask a local agent to check it out for them who may in turn have their own connections to another portal.

They do work but not as a flash in the pan affect which some people expect. If your property takes 6 months or more to sell locally why would you expect to sell internationally in 5 minutes - but sellers do!

Afghanistan property for sale is not for the faint hearted

Afghanistan property for sale or rent is a new region to the world of investing and is not without difficulties at this stage of the war torn region.

Private real estate agents are still reluctant to explore or invest in a market that a World Bank study reveals that even though local businessmen have poured in a whopping $250m in construction activities in the country since 2001, very little of the money has gone into building homes. Most of it has been invested in luxury commercial buildings, thus assuring returns in a country starved of quality commercial space. Generally residents are erecting dwellings with little or no permission and land ownership is not without issues.

Cyprus Property Market Outlook

Cyprus changed their currency to the Euro in Janaury 2008 which is being seen as highly beneficial to the island’s property market and the change means that interest rates are likely to coem down as this will be seen as very beneficial to the local buying market as well as the expat and investor market.


Prices may increase by as much as 50% over the next year or so acoording to many analysts who have been predicting a dramatic growth in the property market of Cyprus. The house is situated on Devil's Peak or Windberg - the place of the legend of Van Hunks. It has behind it Table Mountain, the world-renowned landmark, and overlooks Table Bay to the North. The mountain slope is very exposed, forming the divide between the wet southern suburbs and those nestling against the main table in and around the City centre. It is true to its name and we are often exposed to the whimsical weather changes so characteristic of the Peninsula. Here the South Easter blows down fiercely in summer and when it dies away, the heat rising up from the city bowl can be stifling. In winter the North Wester drives in the rain and we know it is near when the cloud reaches the cave mouth on the slopes behind us. The evenings and early mornings are sometimes unbelievably quiet and serene and the vistas breathtaking.
